Steel sand scoops are a more durable option for many beachcombers or metal detectorists.  Steel is known for its exceptional strength and durability. A steel sand scoop is generally more robust and resistant to bending or breaking, especially when dealing with heavier or tougher materials like rocks, clay, or compacted soil. Steel sand scoops can withstand more extreme conditions and abuse over an extended period. A steel scoop may have a longer lifespan, especially in rough usage scenarios or when dealing with abrasive materials.  Steel is the most durable type of scoop you can get.  They can stand up to the abrasive sand and stones one may encounter along a shoreline.  There are many options when it comes to steel.  Stainless steel is the hardest and most resistant to corrosion from saltwater.  Anodized steel will provide you a moderate level from corrosion while galvanized steel will provide you a limited resistance but will be more affordable than other steel options.
